The Docuri (Docks) Port Galati

General Information

• Geographical position: on the left bank of the Danube, NM 80; (see map)
• The quay area covers 1500 m, of which 500 m at the Danube and the remaining 1000 m are associated to the port basin;
• Efficient technology for the port operations;
• Various storing facilities and special equipment for lifting, transporting and storing the cargo;
• Utilities: electric energy, fresh water, gas.

Port facilities

• Total port area: 169.331,00 sqm.
  
• The access to the port can be done by: road, rail (large or small gauge) and river:

1. The road network - allows the transport of standard and overload goods. It is connected to the national road system.
   
   
2. Rail road - total length 2.619 m, divided as follows:
   - 1.313 m of rail for reception/delivery;
   - 1.206 m of rail for loading/unloading;
   - 100 m large gauge rail road for loading/unloading wagons from C.S.I.
   The maneuvering of the wagons in the port is done with their own engine.
   
   
3. The waterway
   - The access can be done by barges, river vessels and maritime vessels of max. 8,000 dwt (their dwt capacity and draft depend on the max. allowed draft at the Sulina channel entrance).
   
   - There are 7 (seven) berths assigned to the Port, as follows:

   - 3 (three) berths of 120 m length each, located along the Danube;
   - 4 (four) berths of 90 - 110 m length each, located in the port basin;

   - There is 1 (one) berth of 130 m length, in the port basin and specialized in grains; it operates as a regular port.

Services

Docks Port Galati provides all the usual harbour services, comprising:

- steel products
- bulk goods: coke, coal, ore, ballast and pit products, construction materials

- containerized goods
- general goods
- various industrial equipments
- food stuffs

• Stowage / lashing / dunnaging / securing of the goods on any kind of transportation means;
• Storage on concrete platforms with a total surface of 67,137 sqm, and/or in warehouses covering 17,940 sqm.
